Pillars of Health 3 : Common Sleep Disorders
So what are some of the common sleep disorders? First, we have Obstructive Sleep Apnea. This is a condition where soft tissues in the back of the throat collapse enough that it reduces airflow into the lungs. Insomnia is another common problem, characterized by difficulty falling asleep and/or staying asleep, occurring at least 3 times a week for the last 3 months. There are problems in which our circadian rhythm is delayed or advanced. Restless Leg Syndrome and Periodic Lymph Movement Disorder often occur together. All of these make it harder to sleep, or make it difficult to get the rest we need. We’ll next talk about some things you can do improve your sleep.
