Pillars of Health 5: Positive Psychology: Part 1
Positive psychology isn’t simply “putting on a happy face”. It isn’t meant to neglect negative emotions or ignore personal weaknesses or deficits, but rather to put the focus on positive emotions, successes, and strengths. I think we can all see the benefits of this type of approach in our own lives. I know I can remember the weeks in my life when I focused on the negative, and how that had a negative impact on my week versus the times I chose to focus on positive things and engage with others, and how that led to weeks that were much more enjoyable and memorable.
